I offer a free initial 20-minute consultation, this is a good way to see if we are a good fit for each other. Then we can arrange to start the counselling sessions.

Sessions are £45 for 50-minutes

I offer discounted rates for students and those where money is tight, I am happy to discuss this with no judgement and work out a plan that suits us both. (I can only take on so many discounted clients at one time, however I have a waiting list I am happy to add you to)

What types of therapy do I offer?

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

cceptance and commitment therapy (ACT therapy) is a type of mindful psychotherapy that helps you stay focused on the present moment and accept thoughts and feelings without judgment.

It aims to help you move forward through difficult emotions so you can put your energy into healing instead of dwelling on the negative. It works by focusing on accepting life experiences as they come, without evaluating or trying to change them. It’s a skill developed through mindful exercises that encourage you to build a new and more compassionate relationship with difficult experiences. Doing this can free you from obsessive negative thinking so you can have peace of mind and healing.

ACT can help treat many mental and physical conditions. These include: anxiety disorders, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, addiction, stress.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a form of psychological treatment, that involves efforts to change thinking patterns. It can help you learn to recognise negative, detrimental thoughts which create problems, and then revaluate them in reality. It helps you gain a better understanding of your behaviours and motivations. CBT involves efforts to change behavioural patterns, strategies such as facing your fears in small incremental steps, instead of avoiding them. As well as learning techniques to calm your mind and relax your body.

CBT places an emphasis on learning exercises in the session and homework given outside of them, so you will learn and implement effective coping strategies and self-awareness.

CBT can be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety, addiction, marital/relationship problems, eating disorders, it is also effective in developing a more positive outlook on life, help with feelings of overwhelm and feeling ‘stuck’.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic Counselling tries to help clients understand long-standing conflicts from the past which helps the client become more self-aware and bring what is unconscious into consciousness.

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on the psychological roots of emotional suffering. Its prioritises are self-reflection and self-examination.

You won’t solve your problems repeating the things that create your problems in the first place.  Psychodynamic counselling is concerned with helping people to identify and find a way out of making the same mistakes again. Psychodynamic counselling offers the chance to break the neagtive pattersn.

Psychodynamic therapy can help those suffering from anxiety, depression, eating disorders, interpersonal problems, psychological distress, social anxiety disorder and substance use disorders.

Humanistic Therapy

Humanistic therapy is a type of mental health treatment that centres around your unique experience and perspective.

Humanistic therapy focuses on helping people free themselves from negative assumptions and attitudes so they can live fuller lives. It places emphasis on growth and self-actualization. Humanistic therapy adopts a holistic approach that focuses on free will, human potential, and self-discovery. It aims to help you develop a strong and healthy sense of self, explore your feelings, find meaning, and focus on your strengths

Humanistic therapy is used to treat depression, anxiety, panic disorders, addiction, and relationship issues, including family relationships.
